Dinner Time || The Wedding

While we were upstairs signing the marriage license, Miranda lead the crew to help convert the deck, where the ceremony was, for dinner. The staff members at the venue moved all of the chairs and tables and Miranda made sure all of the table cloths and flowers were set on each table. That was another reason we went with very simple table arrangements, as it would only take a few minutes to set up after the ceremony.

Finally we reached a very important moment: the food! We had a taco bar catered by a local caterer and we couldn't wait to dig in! Miranda was awesome at making sure we got everything we needed and packed away some leftovers for us to take home with us. She was amazing throughout the whole day!

When I first saw this photo in the album, it took a minute for me to realize that Brent and Roy were pretending to eat our food at our table. Ha!


I think someone told us to kiss? I honestly don't remember, lol.

This is honestly one of my favorite photos. Seeing all of our closest friends and family having a good time after all the work we went into planning captured into a photo.

Finding Shoes Finding the right pair of shoes was quite the challenge. Ideally I wanted something red, but it's hard to find red flats in general, let alone in a size 5.5W. Finding plain flats in that size is nearly impossible. But one day I had the realization that I should've been looking in the kids section as there are more colorful options and the equivalent sizes are usually a bit wider. I ordered 5 different pairs of flats from the kids section on Amazon and ended up keeping two pairs. The original plan was to wear the red ones for the wedding and the silver ones to my bridal shower. I did that, but also brought the silver ones the day of the wedding and I'm really glad I did, as after not too long the red ones became really uncomfortable on my heel so I switched out after pictures to the silver ones. First Dance + Snowball || The Wedding

After we all were fed, it wouldn't be long before the band started and the dancing begun. Evelynn warming up the dance floor. Saying hi to Jonathan Doyle, our bandleader for the evening. When we decided we were having a band, Doyle was our top pick for bandleader, so we were soooooo happy when we found out he was available and we were able to book him! Since Kaleb and I are pretty involved in the Seattle lindy hop community, we're blessed to know so many amazing jazz musicians, so we were super excited to pick a few favorites to play as a trio at our reception. In addition to the wonderful Jonathan Doyle, we had Jen Hodge and Josh Roberts. Gosh, what a lineup! Time for the first dance! We weren't super picky on first dance songs, and honestly we were having trouble finding something that stood out to us more, but we ended up deciding on Exactly Like You. Booking Vendors

Choosing a Photographer Let's be real: this was one of the hardest vendors for me. Being that I'm a photographer myself means I'm pretty picky, but then you add the fact that I'm also very budget conscious and that makes it even harder. A lot of the photographers whose style I really liked were starting close to double of what we wanted to pay, which I totally get, but wasn't in the budget for us. So I was really thankful when our good friend Katie (hi Katie!) one evening at Eastside Stomp mentioned that her sister is a wedding photographer and that she'd be able to fit in my budget and that she thought I'd like her style. We checked out Aspired Photography out and booked her ASAP! Though her editing style is a little different than what I usually go for, it fit well with her photos and I really liked how many good candid shots she had, which is something that's very important to me.
